M5 Junction 27 Take A361 to Tiverton/Barnstaple On outskirts of Barnstaple, at mini roundabout bear left onto A39, signposted Bideford At 3rd roundabout take 1st exit, B3232, to Newton Tracey/Great Torrington

Go through Newton Tracey, carry on to ALVERDISCOTT Pass village sign, 30 mile limit and Parish Church on left hand side – road bears round to left – on this corner turn right – signposted HUNTSHAW Take next turn to right (grass triangle) – signposted Haddacott/Brownscombe (sign might not be there!!) **

Go through farm – take right fork (very much single track) Go down slight hill, cross stream and BROWNSCOMBE is on the right as you go up the other side, opposite a white cottage, called Brownscombe Cottage. If you reach T-junction you have gone too far

FROM GREAT TORRINGTON

Take the B3232 to Barnstaple In about 3 miles you will see a very large aerial on left hand side of road – at cross roads turn left At the end of this road turn right

Stay on this road – go over bridge – at top of hill (grass triangle) turn left Then continue from ** above
